1. Communication from the Sports Director

a) Requests for international tournaments The sports department of FISTF only answers requests for international tournaments, if they are sent by the national association. Requests from tournament organizers won't be answered any more. As long as the national association doesn't send the requests for their international tournaments, the tournaments are not mentioned in the calender, which could be a problem because of the changes in the international calender for the next season.
The request has to be sent to the FISTF-Sports Director.
heinz.eder@fistf.com

d) Transfers
The transfer rules are clearly written down in the handbook, so the FISTF BoD only answers to requests for transfers which are possible. One more time a short summary of the transfer rules, there won't be any exception.

1. transfer on 1st of september -> ok if the transfer form is sent 2. transfer between 1st of september and 31st of december -> ok, IF the player didn't play an international tournament between 1st of september and 31st of december 3. transfer after 31st of december -> ok, IF the player isn't mentioned in any category in the last world ranking AND if the player didn't play an international team event for the club he/she actually is registered for.
4. VERY IMPORTANT: ONLY 1 TRANSFER PER SEASON -> means, if the player makes a transfer (club -> club OR club -> unattached) on 1st of september, no second transfer in the same season is possible.
Transfers have to be sent to FISTF Sports Director. heinz.eder@fistf.com

f) Membership form of FISTF membership
Please send FISTF membership form on 1st of september, that FISTF knows if the national association still wants to be a member nation or change the status to a partner nation, members who don't send it will be listed as partner nations automatically.

g) Information about the board of the national association Please also don't forget to send the actual board members of the national association and their contacts.

2. GP and Open of Windsor: Double victory for Wolfgang Haas Wolfgang Haas from Austria managed to win the FISTF Grand Prix and Open of Canada last week-end in Windsor. Alberto wishes visitors to tell him what they think about the website. You can send me your comments at the new email address: http://www.miomovie.it/TableFootball/English/Index.htm is now showing some nice links of table football videos. 11. USA: LMSC to shrink, but concept to grow Holland, MI - The Lake Michigan Subbuteo Circuit announced today it plans on shrinking its geographic footprint to the immediate shoreline of Lake Michigan. The new area will cover West Michigan, NW Indiana and Chicago.
Indianapolis will join Cincinnati and Dayton in a new Ohio Valley circuit which will alternate dates with LMSC. The rotation will be tested in the latter months of the 2006/07 season, and go into full effect in the 2007/08 season. The Ohio Valley circuit will be administered by the ASA's Development Officer Steve Laskey, who now lives in Cincinnati.

1. Grand Prix of the Netherlands
Massimiliano nastasi (Perugia) beat Eric Verhagen (Devils) in the final of last week-end's FISTF Grand prix in Nieuwveen (near Amsterdam). 120 players from 14 countries were taking part and there were taking part and many of the world's top players were present. Kasper Bennett and Wolfgang Leitner reached the semi-finals but Belgium's Bessim Golger took most of the attention when leaving his quarter-final against Bennett. Golger gave also a very bad image of our sport when leaving the final of the team event in the game between Charleroi and the Devils because he didn't accept some decisions of the referee. After 13 minutes, the 4 Charleroi players left the game. Therefore the Devils took the title without even playing the second half of the game...

Dominik Shultz from Germany won the U19 tournament while Ruben Português took the honors in U15 and Martijn Bom beat Erich Hinkelmann on shots int he veterans final. Magali Doumont won the ladies title.

2. Cheap accomodations for the world cup Laurent Garnier asks me to let players know that there will be very cheap accomodations at the "Camping la Bretèche". More datas are available at www.campinglabreteche.com Players can contact the camping at Camping la Bretèche Base de loisirs 85590 LES EPESSES Tél : 02.51.57.33.34   Fax : 02.51.57.41.98 www.campinglabreteche.com

There will be the possibility to stay in huts for 7-9 persons with an amazing low prize of 49 EUROS per hut.

3. World Cup 2007 looking for referees
The world Cup 2007 organisation crew is looking for volunteers to be referees. Interested players can contact Laurent Garnier at chragg@hol.gr

5. A good turnout for Beausoleil
The Grand Prix of Beausoleil will have a very good turnout as mentionned on www.beausoleil-gp.blogspot.com

6. Grand Prix of Vienna
The invitation of the austrian GP is available from Heinz Eder at www.firstfitnessclub.at)

7. 2nd FISTF Open in the US
The 2nd US FISTF IO will be held in Richland, Washington August 4th. CM for the event is Todd Kleppin (www.miomovie.it

11. Subbuteo in Chile
Has anyone seen this?
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=0R2LldDN ... ed&search=
Looks as if there is a new association/club/league in Chil:

12. African Table Football Association (by Clifford Graaff) The newly-found South African Table Football Association was formed on 31 March 2007. Vikash Ramnath was elected as Chairman and he duly accepted the post. The first table football club was also formed on the same day, namely the Johannesburg Table Football Club. (Johannesburg is the venue for the World Cup Final 2010). Two Future's have been planned along with the South African Open in November 2007 - the full programme will be conveyed at a later stage.
Suffice to say that all table footie fans in South Africa are thrilled with these latest developments and the sport is firmly entrusted to an extremely dedicated person in Vikash and we are sure that he will serve us with his unmistaken passion and dedication.
A word of thanks must also go to Reza Bodiat for his invaluable input in making the above possible.
Exciting times are on the way for table football in South Africa.

13. Looking for the old FISA results
Does anyone know the scores of the FISA European finals 1996 between Felipe Maia (POR) and Joseph Borg Bonaci (MLT) in Open and between Dionisis Koutis

The Southern California Subbuteo Club launched their latest version of their website on April 1, 2007.  It features the latest results from current competitions, an archive of previous tournaments, profiles of the current members of the club, and photographs from many of the recent competitions.
Covering "So Cal", Los Angeles and the surrounding cities and counties, the club's membership has ebbed and flowed since its founding in 1985.
Currently there are six active members who turn up to events on a regular basis, and there are a number of players who can be counted upon to turn up for special events.
New members are always welcome.  If you are interested in learning more or playing a few games please feel free to email one of the people on the "Contact Us" page.

12. Malta: teams championship (by Timothy Spiteri) Hamrun TFC won the National Team Championships for this season beating the other team present, Valletta SC in a two-leg competition. The first match ended in a draw while the second was won by Hamrun TFC. This mean Hamrun will be in Athens next year for the Europa Cup. This will be the first Maltese participation in an Europa Cup since Hamburg 1993 when Floriana TFSC finished in 3rd place. The team will be further reinforced for next season with the signings of Stefan Pace and Ilai Zammit Marmara' who will both return to their beloved Hamrun from Palermo. After beating Perugia, everything is possible now, with an even stronger squad!

1. Grand Prix and Open of Norway
For the 3rd year in a row, Norway held great tournaments in Skien last week-end. Eric Verhagen( world number 1) and Massimo Cremona (world number
2) were the top players taking part but there was a strong field of 15 foreign players, including some Italians as well as players from Germany, England, Finland, Belgium.
In the Grand Prix, Massimo Cremona managed to beat Eric Verhagen in a very close final (5-4) but on the next day, both players had to meet int he quarter-finals and the Dutchman took his revenge. Verhagen finally beat Phil Redman from England 3-1 in the final.

Redman took the veterans titles in the Grand Prix but lost the other veterans final on sunday on shots to Riccardo Schito from Italy. Björn Kegenbein managed to win the 2 titles in the U19 category.

2. FISTF Satellite of Yorkshire
With 3 players in the semi-finals, Scotland dominated last sunday's FISTF Satellite of Yorkshire. The tournament was played by 30 competitors from six countries and finally, Steve Bennett (Tayside) managed to beat Mike Burns (Hot Club) 1-0 in a re-match of the recent final of the UK & Ireland Internationals held in Belfast.

3. FISTF Future of Johannesburg : 24 June 2007 (by Clifford Graaff) On Sunday , 24 June 2007, the first ever FISTF approved tournament in Africa - namely the Future of Johannesburg - was organized by the Johannesburg Table Football Club and held at Mark's Park (one of the oldest Sport's Clubs in Johannesburg). A total of 12 competitors took part. After the group stages the top two players from each of the four groups advanced to the quarter finals.
The results of  the quarter finals were as follows :
- Clifford Graaff (Western Eagles) beat Harold Silber (Amakhosi United) 5 -
1
- Sean Morgan (Scottish Legends) beat Richard Graaff (Guerrero's) 2 - 0
- Shane Graaff (Millwall Midgets) beat Reza Bodiat (Robertsham Callies) 2 - 0
- Tariq Bodiat (Joburg All Stars) beat Robyn Morgan (Itallian Stallions) 4
- 0 (A special word of congratulations to Robyn who is the highest ranked Ladies player of the tournament).
In the semi-finals Sean Morgan defeated Shane Graaff ,in what was described as the 'Match of the Day', by one goal to nil - with the winner being scored in the last minute.
In the other semi-final the great run by junior Tariq Bodiat came to an end when he lost to Clifford Graaff by 2 goals to 5.
In the curtain raiser to the final Shane Graaff (Millwall Midgets) defeated junior Tariq Bodiat (Joburg All Stars) by 4 goals to nil to capture third place. A special mention must however go to Tariq Bodiat for his great performance in the tournament and his overall 4 position finish and his status as the top ranked junior of the competition.
In the final the top two seeded players namely Clifford Graaff (Western
Eagles) and Sean Morgan (Scottish Legends) played a tense game whereby Clifford Graaff made more use of his opportunities in the first half to lead by 1 goal to nil. The second half was more of the same ,however crucial errors by Sean Morgan led to Clifford Graaff scoring three more goals (the last goal being scored with 2 seconds left on the clock) to annex the first Future of Johannesburg by 4 goals to nil. The score line however was not a true reflection of the extremely tight contest that showcased the GRAND FINALE of the first of many Table Football tournaments (approved by FISTF) in South Africa.
By all accounts ,everybody enjoyed themselves at a venue that proved to be extremely popular and hopefully will be used as the Headquarters of the South African Table Football Association (SATFA) in the future.

4. Yorkshire Phoenix are english champions The Yorkshire Phoenix managed to win last week's national title for teams.
The Yaorkshire A team beat the Yorkshire B team int he final while Yorkshire C, Cheshire Corinthians, TSPA Whitestar and Breretown TFC were the other teams taking part. Yorkshire will be taking part to the forthcoming Europa Cup in Athens in october.
